Weather

It might be hard to believe, but Juneau is actually located in a rainforest. Most people think of humidity, sun, lush green beautiful plants, warm, etc when thinking of a rainforest, but it comes in all shapes and sizes. Juneau is generally humid, but because it is not as warm as tropical areas people do not feel the humidity as much. During the summer the average temperature is 64F and during the winter it is 31F. Being right next to the ocean means that the temperature does not reach extremes as it does in the interior of Alaska. Also, Juneau, just as most of Southeast gets more rainfall than the interior of Alaska with October being the rainiest month averaging 8.30 inches of percipitation.
