The first order of business at JEDC is the creation of wealth through the start up and growth of successful and sustainable businesses in Alaska. We provide confidential one-on-one counseling where we address any specific questions or barriers that an entrepreneur may have. Our counselors are experienced businesspeople and educators who can answer questions, evaluate business plans and much more. They are experienced in counseling by phone and e-mail for those clients who live outside of the Juneau area.

Another resource at the disposal of JEDC is the Alaska Manufacturing Extension Partnership (AMEP) which is a new Alaska office of a federal, state and private partnership. AMEP helps improve the competitiveness of manufacturing by providing technical assistance to entrepreneurs. AMEP is part of a nationwide network of 55 centers run by the National Institute of Standards & Technology's Manufacturing Extension Program. The national MEP aims to overcome known barriers to success for small manufacturers including limited budgets, lack of in-house expertise and lack of access to the newest technologies.
