Step 1: How to Request Consulting Services
Call 523-2300 to request more information. You must apply to the JEDC reimbursement program prior to the start of any consulting work. It provides JEDC with some information about you, your business and your consulting needs.
Upon receipt of the Client Request for Consulting/Coaching Services, a JEDC staff member will contact you to discuss your consulting or coaching needs further. We will match you with the expertise you need. JEDC will forward your contact information to the small business consultant, who will get in touch you to schedule an initial consultation. This first meeting will be arranged at a time and place convenient for you.
Step 2: What to Expect for the Consulting Engagement
During the initial consultation, the consultant will work with you to develop the necessary detail to identify the scope of work needed. During this meeting you and your consultant will agree on: Nature of the business or coaching needs that will be addressed. A Scope of Work that will be used to develop consulting deliverables, a contract and a fee for services.
The consultant will develop a list of next steps that may include further interviews, data gathering and other research, and report writing. You will be given a time-line and expected completion date. The consultant will charge you directly, including an initial down payment, and you will be responsible for paying the consultant's fees. After payment is received, the consultant will provide you with a reimbursement certification and an evaluation form that you must submit to JEDC to request your rebate.
Step 3: Send in the Paperwork
You have 90 days from the end of your engagement to submit your paperwork to JEDC. Provide JEDC with a copy of the paid consulting bill, the signed reimbursement request and the service evaluation form.
You will be reimbursed at a rate of $25 per hour, up to a maximum of 20 hours in a calendar year.
