Dear JEDC Supporter,

Those of us who are fortunate enough to live, work, and conduct business in Juneau and Southeast Alaska are familiar with the natural beauty and high quality of life our region affords. To enjoy the riches of our community and region it is critical that we maintain a strong economy and make Juneau and Southeast more attractive for businesses and families.

The Juneau Economic Development Council's mission is to foster a healthy and sustainable economic climate in Juneau and throughout Southeast Alaska, as well as to implement initiatives in collaboration with other organizations to maintain, expand, and create economic opportunities. In 2009, especially important in light of the economic recession that is facing our nation as well as our state, JEDC is gathering our resources in order to increase our focus on protecting and growing the vital elements of our local economy and community lifestyle. We are hoping that you will partner with us in this endeavor.

JEDC has been compiling, analyzing, and presenting Juneau's economic indicators for more than 20 years, and is now reporting on regional indicators as well as researching other significant economic and social issues. The indicators are produced annually and are widely used by businesses and lawmakers. Indicators will be updated semi-annually. In 2008 we distributed more than 20,000 copies of the indicators to local and regional households and businesses via a newspaper insert. The document was also downloaded nearly 1,000 times from our website.

This year we are asking that you support us by helping to sponsor this effort--and by extension--all of our efforts. As a thank you, your business will be highlighted as a partner in our work to strengthen the local and regional economy. The enclosed brochure and sponsorship form present the levels of support from which you may select, and provide additional information regarding our Economic Value Partnership program.
