IRS Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program
The Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program was created by the Tax Reform Act of 1986 as an alternate method of funding housing for low- and moderate-income households. By allowing a taxpayer (usually the partners of a partnership that owns the housing) to take a federal tax credit equal to a large percentage of the cost incurred for development of the low-income units in a rental housing project, interest in producing this type of housing is created.
In Juneau, Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority's Glacier Village Subdivision and Ha'anee'hittee Subdivision were partially funded using the LIHTC program.
| Project Name | Number of Units | Year Funded |
| MacKinnon apartments | 23 | 1999 |
| Ha'anee'hittee Subdivision | 25 | 2002 |
| Channel View | 23 | 2001 |
| Glacier Village II | 41 | 2004 |
