SpringBoardSpringBoard is a partnership between the Juneau Economic Development Council and the US Department of Defense (DoD) that works to transfer and commercialize technologies developed by DoD research laboratories, create and expand business opportunities, support development of future scientists and engineers, and help DoD meet its diverse technology-based needs. Technology Transfer
SpringBoard assesses DoD's technology-addressable needs, facilitates licensing of DoD-developed technologies to companies in Alaska and throughout the US, crafts and facilitates joint R&D agreements between DoD labs and companies, assists companies commercializing technologies that can benefit DoD, develops partnerships of all types that add value to DoD, and identifies DoD technologies of potential interest to industries with interests and operations in cold climates. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)SpringBoard's three-pronged approach to education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) -- professional development for teachers, enrichment activities for students, and public advocacy -- is designed to engage and inspire students in STEM fields. Our broad aim is to build the STEM talent pool to meet the imperatives of the US Department of Defense and the nation for a 21st century workforce.
