One team from Hoonah, eleven teams from Juneau, one Sitka team and two teams from Skagway competed in the FIRST® LEGO® League 2009 "Smart Move" Challenge on Saturday, November 21st in Juneau. Known locally as the 3rd Annual Juneau Robot Jamboree, this year's event challenged teams to use the latest Lego technology and materials to demonstrate ways of accessing people, places, goods and services in the safest, most efficient way possible. Teams were judged in four categories—Robot Design, Robot Performance, Project Presentation, and Teamwork—with awards to the top three teams in each category and an overall winner with the best combined results.

This year's Juneau Robot Jamboree took place at Centennial Hall with over 200 participants, coaches, volunteers, and referees in attendance, as well as dozens of spectators. Awards are listed below. Please click here for more photos from the 3rd Annual Juneau Robot Jamboree.
