For Sponsors, it\u2019s the most enlightened investment you could ever make. <span><em>FIRST<\/em><sup><em>\u00ae<\/em><\/sup><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\"> is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization devoted to helping young people discover and develop a passion for science, engineering, technology, and math. Founded over 30 years ago, there have been over 3.2 million youth patricipants since its inception in 1989. the 2015-2016 <span><em>FIRST<\/em><sup><em>\u00ae<\/em><\/sup><\/span><\/span><em style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\">season attracted more than 400,000 youth and more than 200,000 Mentors, Coaches, and Volunteers from 80+ countries. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team \u201cbrand,\u201d hone teamwork skills, and build and program a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It\u2019s as close to \u201creal world\u201d engineering as a student can get.
