Parent and Coach Information Night

Join FIRST In Alaska September 17th for information on organizing and registering students and teams!

Occurs Wednesday, Septemberr 17th at 6:00 pm! This event will be taking place both on Zoom and in the JEDC office at 612 W. Willoughby AVE. Reach out to acooper@jedc.org or lwild@jedc.org for more information.

FLL Coach Training Session

FLL Coach training with  FIRST In Alaska September 18th On at the office and on Zoom! 

Information and training session for new and returning coaches Wednesday, September 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm! The event will be live at the JEDC, 612 W. Willoughby AVE, and available through Zoom! Reach out to acooper@jedc.org or lwild@jedc.org for more information.

Hardship grants are available for rookie or returning FIRST Tech Challenge teams via a nomination from your Program Delivery Partner (Alyson). FIRST Lego League Classpack funding is also available. See the link below or reach out to acooper@jedc.org for more information.

FIRST Tech Challenge Kickoff Tomorrow!

The FIRST Tech Challenge Season 2025-2026 begins tomorrow! 

Kickoff events will be taking place September 6th in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau, or join us on the statewide remote zoom!  Checkout the calendar for more information. There is a link to the broadcast Video below for those who cannot make it for the scheduled events. On release day look for the FTC 2025- 2026 DECODE robot game introduction and season information release on the FIRST  website!

FIRST Dashboard Updates

A brand new dashboard is coming to FIRST!

On top of the upgrades to express enrollment added in early 2025, FIRST is reworking the dashboard to optimize the process of participating with FIRST whether as a coach, parent, or volunteer!

The website will be down on August 25th in preparation for this release on August 26th. When logging in after the new release, you will need to establish a password for the new single-sign-on login.

New FIRST Alaska Senior Mentor

Welcome Dave Patterson!

FIRST Alaska welcomes Long term FTC volunteer Dave Patterson to his new role as Alaska's FIRST Senior Mentor. Huge thanks to our outgoing FIRST Senior Mentor Wendy Bryden for all of her hard work.  

Additionally, FIRST Alaska would like to thank Former Jesuit Volunteer Mitchell Sporing for all his wonderful work on the 2024-2025 season, and all he did to uplift the community in his year of service.  Our organization welcomes the 2025-2026 Jesuit volunteer Luke Wild as the next member of the FIRST Alaska team!
