Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) is a collaboration between the business community, educators, and volunteers – all working together to inspire and prepare the next generation for success. Through experiential, hands-on programs, Junior Achievement empowers young individuals with valuable skills in work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Junior Achievement of Alaska’s mission is to educate and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy.
The Junior Achievement of Alaska – Juneau Committee is currently led by the Juneau Economic Development Council (JEDC). We actively invite local businesses, organizations, and individuals to get involved. JEDC serves as the local coordinator, managing volunteer and educator outreach, organizing volunteer orientation, raising funds, and working with the statewide JA office to provide program kits and promote the program throughout the community.

Entrepreneurship Camp - TBA
This Summer 2025, JEDC STEM is offering this Pay-As-You-Can summer camp to introduce key concepts of entrepreneurship, business, and finance to children entering Grades 6-8 using JA curriculum. Similar to JA Anchorage’s Biz Kids Camp, our Entrepreneurship Camp will include business and finance lessons, local business leader presentations, and a Shark Tank-style pitch contest where students will present their business and financing plans to a panel of judges from the business community.
