Michael H. Shuman is an economist, attorney, author, and entrepreneur, and a globally recognized expert on community economics. He has written several books on local economic development including The Small Mart Revolution, Local Dollars and Local Sense and, most recently, The Local Economy Solution.

  • Dr. Christian Ketels will discuss how Alaska can draw on the most recent thinking on the competitiveness of locations and the role of clusters to develop and implement an economic strategy applying cluster-based economic policies.

Dr. Christian Ketels is a member of the Harvard Business School faculty at Professor Michael E. Porter’s Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness. Dr. Ketels is the President of the TCI Network, a global practitioner’s network for competitiveness, clusters and innovation.
