Downloading the Local Frequency app means you are committing to spending your money with small and independent businesses in our community. The app rewards you in cash back for every purchase you make. “Local Dollars” are defined as money that is spent only at participating businesses within the app. This dollar has the same value as a USD currency but it is guaranteed to be given back to businesses that support and make decisions with our community in mind. When you download the Local Frequency, load $285 Local Dollars onto the app (watch the “How the App Works” video on how to load Local Dollars), pay for registration through the JEDC Business Listing, and earn $50 in Local Dollars, automatically uploaded to your account!
1. Search for The Local Frequency in the App Store
The app is available through both Google Play and Apple Store. Search for “The Local Frequency”
2. Set Up Your Account
Choose Juneau, AK as your location and set up your secure account. Add in your preferred credit card that will be used to load Local Dollars to earn rewards back on each purchase you make.
3. Load Local Dollars
Purchase Local Dollars through the app by using your credit card to load $285 Local Dollars.
4. Register for the Innovation Summit
- Search for Juneau Economic Development Council in the list of merchants and choose the Pay for Online Order option. (an orange phone on any merchant means you are able to earn reward when ordering online)
Follow the instructions as listed below (and in the app). You will receive an emailed promo code to enter into the EventBrite ticketing system for a “free” registration.
IN APP INSTRUCTIONS
- Order number- the number of tickets being purchased
- Amount- $285 per ticket.
- A unique one-time use code will be sent to your email and $50 loaded into your Local Frequency account.
- Finish registering at the website link at the bottom of the merchant listing (the wold icon) and use the promo code to bypass payment on the registration site.
- Spend your $50 at any participating Local Frequency business OR hold onto it and use it to cast votes during the Pitch Contest!
