Spending your money at an independent shop not only supports a local business owner but it ensures that a town of 30,000 can have a varied and diversified offering of goods and services. When you choose a Devils Club Brewery Signature IPA or Coppa’s much loved coffee and ice cream instead of the big box option your money is three times more likely to be reinvested into Juneau.
Think about it, when you decide to make a small shift in your purchasing habits it has a large effect on the community it is spent in. 1. Search for The Local Frequency in the App Store
The app is available through both the Google Play Store and Apple Store. Search for “The Local Frequency”
2. Set Up Your Account
Choose Juneau, AK as your location and set up your secure account. Add in your preferred credit card that will be used to load “Local Dollars” to earn rewards back on each purchase you make.
3. Load Local Dollars
It is recommended that you “Load & Pay” this way you can earn the largest reward when shopping and dining locally.
3. Scan Personal QR Code at Register
Each user has a personal QR code that is used through the app to scan and load rewards.
4. Earn a Percentage Back on Purchase
Each shop has their own reward system, all shops are set up to give a higher reward to customers that “Load & Pay”. Meaning you load “Local Dollars” onto your app and pay directly from the app. Instead of swiping a credit card and then scanning your personal QR code for your reward.
